I’ve passionately and very actively advocated for digital tools & online democracy for the past 18 months (probably to the point of irritating a few people!) because I saw lots of evidence of (unconscious) bias due to lack of exposure and experience among some deliberative democracy advocates and deliverers.
The world changed now of course.
But I’ve always supported mixed, integrated methods — face-to-face, online, telephone, using the full tool-kit at our disposal. During the COVID19 Lockdown, with an explosion of online engagement and digital democracy, I’ve even had to start advocating for face-to-face when we ‘Return to New Normal’ as some digital democracy advocates started getting as one-eyed as the f2f fundamentalists were doing BC (Before COVID19).
